You may be owed a refund on your old car's GAP or warranty. Most people never ask.
When you pay off a car loan early, trade in, refinance, or total the vehicle, any GAP insurance or extended warranty you paid for stops covering you, but the unused portion is usually still refundable. In most states you have to request it yourself.
